With reference to Mr. Beckett's letter of 28th

July last (52825/28) and to subsequent correspondence, I am

directed to inform you that the Selection Committee at their

meeting on 12th October decided to recommend Miss Kathleen P.

Curtin, Miss Evelyn May Gray and Miss Elsie Geddes Stephen

for appointment as Mistresses for Secondary Classes and

Miss Kathleen Frances Benington, Miss Mary Adelaide Karšlake

and Miss Joyce Flowers Looker for appointment as Mistresses

for Primary Classes in the Education Department of Hong Kong.

If, for any reason, it should not be found possible to

appoint one of the candidates recommended for the Secondary

posts, the Committee desire to recommend Miss Mabel Riley.

Particulars of the qualifications and experience of these

candidates will be found in the accompanying papers.
